THE FULL STORY

Lisa Affleck is a multi award winning designer with formal qualifications and well over 20 years experience in the design industry both locally and internationally. She brings an unparalleled level of enthusiasm, passion & creative consciousness to her various disciplines. She is both practical & hands on and has always had an innate flair for shape, form and colour.
Lisa is inspired by everything around her but especially by natural shape and colour combinations which she demonstrates in her artwork and her design projects alike. She has become more and more aware of the 'value add' (especially to lifestyle) that good design represents.
She sees her design practice as a reaction to her clients rather than an action and she has a propensity to redesign a space in her head no matter where she is or what she's doing (in a habitual way).
After 25 years or more in the industry, there's not much that she can't take on.

CAREER HISTORY

Lisa began her career in Sydney at David Jones as a Visual Merchandiser/ display artist in the late 80's. Previously, over two years in Tokyo Japan, she developed a breadth of experience on high profile store design and branding concepts for many Japanese retailers. While she was there, Lisa studied Japanese and maintains her fluency in the Japanese language. While studying design, she continued to work on autonomous design projects.

Lisa worked for homeware stores and larger design companies in the 90's in Sydney before moving to Port Macquarie in January, 2001. She opened her own design business 'Visual Edge' which has thrived since then and continues to prosper in a busy local environment. The business now enjoys a healthy client base and has achieved many business and design awards for both residential and commercial projects over the past two decades.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Lisa has substantial experience in both commercial and domestic interior design, new builds and renovations alike. She has vast knowledge of retail design due to her strong background in Visual Merchandising & display. She is formally qualified having achieved a Diploma of Interior Design, a Diploma in Visual Merchandising, a Diploma in Retail Management, plus a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

There's very little that she can't take on as a veteran in the design industry, she boasts an extensive body of work.

AFFILIATIONS & SKILLS

Lisa has a strong affiliation with Dulux Australia, Inspirations Paint and Colour as well as Bunnings design service since 2008. She enjoys exclusive designer privileges and receives in home referrals servicing the Mid North Coast region and remote design projects across across the country and internationally.

Incorporating graphic design and tech skills for commercial and business design clients has proven a valuable asset. For interior design and retail clients it means colour overlays and spatial planning or 3D drawings. For commercial clients it represents a coordinated approach through interior design, branding, spatial planning, signage and art installations. This design technology as well as mastering the remote design process has been a leap forward in providing planning and visualisation tools to clients no matter where they're located.

PERSONAL LIFE

Lisa married her true love Warrick in March 2023. While they are newlyweds, they have been together for 20 years! They had a home wedding in the company of their closest family and friends. They live happily on the riverside at Port Macquarie on a 25 acre farmlet with their two rescue staffy fur babies - Rusty and Bindi.

Lisa's hobbies are walking in and appreciating nature, snow skiing, swimming, art, gardening and travel.
