IDEAS, INSPIRATION & CREATIVE LIVING

Changing the colour of a multi residential building is one of the most cost effective ways to increase the value of the property, attract higher quality tennants and protect your investment.

It’s been refreshing to watch interiors move beyond beige-on-beige, and I am absolutely here for this new era of authentic colour. We're moving beyond loud colours to create personality through depth, character, and meaningful materials. Happy New Year to all my lovely clients and subscribers! This month, I'd like to make you aware of the various paint companies' colour forecasts. These forecasts are a helpful tool for designers and homeowners alike. You all know by now that

Let's dive into some of the most common misconceptions about interior design. These myths can create unnecessary stress and confusion. By addressing them, I hope to empower you to make bold choices in your space. “Everything has to match.” Nope - the magic is in the mix. I've always been a huge fan of eclectic design. The days of buying a matching table and buffet or TV unit are long gone. Rather, let's have fun using your found objects, collections, and vintage items—things

Aside from celebrating 23 years in the design business in January, there's quite a lot happening in the studio. Come in and take a look!

Modern maximalism is an excellent option to consider if you want to create a unique and personalised space that feels like home.

Design experts and industry leaders all agree that white is becoming a thing of the past. Well that's music to my ears! As a creative designer with a passion for colour and eclectic spaces, I couldn't be happier! The white palette which was once a symbol of sophistication is now being replaced with bold colors, textures, and warm tones. Home design is ever-evolving as homeowners’ tastes change and new technologies develop. One home design trend that will be disappearing in 20

As the pandemic forces us to re-evaluate our homes, can interior designers help us build a better world or have a better life? By definition, the role of an interior designer is to create beautiful, comfortable and functional interiors by manipulating space, layout, light, colour, materials and furniture – all while keeping clients’ wishes and constraints front of mind. But are interior designers essential? As pandemic-containment measures prioritise goods and services that a

A recent paint project at Dales Office Furniture Port Macquarie resulted in a real injection of professionalism for this industrial building. Interior Designers are in fact creative types by nature and love to imagine, dream, explore and follow our intuition. That being said, there are some principles that guide us to ensure a great result for our clients. I hate to break it to you, but interior designers don’t really follow a secret decorating rule book. The principles of design are the closest thing we have to a rule book but typically once a designer learns these principles, he or she is

No matter what your style is, colour is something that enriches your life in unimaginable ways. As a designer, its easy to inspire people with colour and show clients how to use colour in a way that suits their personal style. Using colour in your home can trigger happiness and well being if used in an informed and restrained way. The recent swing in interior design trends back to strong and meaningful colour selection (as opposed to all neutral and white) puts a smile on my

What's the difference? ... and how to choose one.... Putting together a scheme, choosing the right finishes or re-envisioning a space – these are the things that keep us up at night and can put the brakes on even the most exciting of projects. This is where an interior designer comes in; bringing with them a trained eye, design contacts and the ability to turn your vision into reality. A clever tile selection can make a huge difference to your project! If not chosen carefully, tiles can date a property within 6-8 years, sometimes less! Tiles are a popular choice in the Mid North Coast because of our gorgeous temperate climate. They are a cool, low maintenance, easy care option. I am a lover of timber floors but I still do tons of tile selections for both residential and commercial clients for their bathrooms, splash backs and flooring. The trick is to mix
